What is Measure G?
Measure G is on the November 5, 2024 ballot to transform transportation in San Diego County. Measure G will fix our roads, speed up commute times and make real safety, transit and transportation improvements to reduce traffic gridlock and give us more time with family and friends. With Measure G, we can ensure that San Diego will never become like LA in terms of traffic, smog and all the problems they bring.
Why do we need Measure G?
If we don’t improve transportation now, smog, congestion and traffic will only get worse. This is our chance to do things differently than LA.
Let’s do what LA never did and unclog freeways while preserving open space, lagoons and habitat to protect the environment.
What transportation improvements will Measure G include?
Measure G is focused on specific transportation improvements that will make commutes easier for all of San Diego County. Including:
Fixing streets and repairing the worst potholes and roads across the County
Fix aging, underground storm drains to prevent more catastrophic sinkholes and collapsing roads and protect beaches and natural habitats
Re-route rail lines away from collapsing bluffs
Improve connections to job centers for working people
Enhance safety by improving evacuation routes in high-fire-danger areas
Fix old and deteriorating bridges
Improve transportation safety for everyone, including people who walk, bike, drive, or ride transit
